Enhancing Your Face

August 17, 2007 at 12:22 pm (beauty, cheek implants, chin implants, cosmetics, facial implants, jaw implants)

Sorry for the lack of update. My family and I recently returned from our yearly trip to Hawaii. Hence, the infrequent attention, given to my site.

In the last post, I wrote about enhancing your face beyond the Lifestyle Lift— something related to the face. In this post, I will carry out on that theme as I will be blogging about various facial implant procedures that can combat that aging. Next time, I promise, I will focus on something more related to the body. I just think it is imperative that these methods for making your face more beautiful are known.

Getting facial implants is probably one of the most advanced cosmetic procedures you can ever get. Getting a facial implant is meant for: augmentation, reconstruction and rejuvenation. Facial implants can be key to making your face look more beautiful as they generally add and restore shape and proportion to a your face. These procedures are available for enhancing the look of one’s chin, jaw, nose or cheek. Having these implants will not only make you look better, but they can also make you feel more confident with your look.

Facial implants are done by having small incisions made where the implant would be placed. This is usually either in a crease or inside the mouth at the gum/lip junction. Then a pocket is formed in the facial tissue where the implant would be placed. After the implant has been inserted, the incision is then stitched.

There are three kinds of facial implants available for people to get. These available implants are for the chin, cheek, and jaw.

The chin implant procedure is performed by having incisions made either under your chin or along the lower lip on the inside of your mouth. A pocket is then made for the implant to inserted in. Then the implant is placed through the incision. After that, the doctor will then put a medicated bandage across your stitched chin to reduce inflammation and discomfort. Within seven days, stitches are then removed.

Chin Implant Before and After Chin Implants

Cheek implants are done by having the incisions under your lower eyelids or on either side of the upper lip. Then a pocket is made for the implant to fit into. Just like the rest, once that is done the implant is inserted through the incision. Bandages are then put on to reduce the swelling and discomfort.

Cheek Implants Before and After Cheek Implants

Jaw implants are carried out by having an incision made on either side of the lower lip. A pocket is then made for the insertion of the implant. After that, the implant is placed into the lower jaw through the incision. A bandage tape is then applied across the chin to reduce redness and swelling.

Overall, most facial implant procedures with general anesthesia often take up to one to two hours. After your incisions are covered, the stitches are carefully removed in about seven days. Any stitches inside your mouth will dissolve in a certain amount of time. However, since some people get facial implants at the same time as other procedures such as a facelift, the healing process can be different.
